Dear 2018 - A letter of gratitude
Dear 2018,
You have been such a beautiful experience. You allowed me to learn so much about myself. You taught me, it is ok to be proud of myself for the little things. Gave me a vantage point to watch myself handle some really difficult situations with style and grace. Afforded me the opportunity to watch myself grow in ways I could have never imagined. You showed me that though things may not work out the way I envisioned them, it doesn’t mean they didn’t happen the way they were supposed to. Gave me the strength to make hard but meaningful decisions. You comforted me as I embraced my hurt feelings, smiled at me as I experienced healing in areas I never thought I’d be free from. You taught me; though I’m not fazed by a lot of things, the things that matter to me matter!
This year alone you’ve allowed me to:
Launch my website, become a certified Hula Hoop Fitness Instructor, watch loved ones get engaged, married, give birth, celebrate birthdays, and say farewell forever. Work on a campaign for a Charity App, participate in the Black Panther syllabus: Check it out…its pretty DOPE, and watch my favorite little cousin join my sorority...EE-YIP! Spend more time with family this year more than any other year in my life, love and lesson, read dope books, see dope movies, become a meditation teacher and do a few things for the first time. Snorkel in the Caribbean Sea, eat an unlimited amount of purple ‘Ritos (insider for my Belize trip fam.), experience a live symphony, visit a place I’ve wanted to go to since 2005, create workshops and so much more! This year I’ve been to Belize, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Delaware, Michigan, West Virginia, Washington, New York, and North Carolina.
Thank you because I laughed more, loved more, smiled more, did what I wanted more and judged less.
I chose love over fear, 2018. Thank you❤️
